China PTAC (Postel) Nokia Buy $2 Billion

The China PTAC Comms company are buying 2 billion US Dollars worth of Nokia mobile phones. PTAC are currently in talks with Nokia about developing channels for sales and further promotions of products.

China Postel are the biggest distributor of mobile phones in china. Nokia seem to be keeping quiet about the deal and deny claims that it will have any changes in the Chinese business arena.

The UK billionaire Richard Branson has now launched Virgin Mobile in India. He is trying to tap into the young mobile phone user’s network in India. India is seen as one of the world’s fastest growing mobile markets. The mobile market in India is presently expanding by over 8 million subscribers per month.

Virgin feel that they can deliver a more tailored and relevant mobile solution to the Indian market, offering music, news and entertainment. The Indian film industry is thought to be a primary target area for mobile. Richard Branson thinks that the Indian mobile market will soon return profits within a 3 year period.

T- Mobile have announced that they will now be using Yahoo for their search engine on phones. Mobile search for T- Mobile will now be steered away from Google. Some say that the field is till open on search for mobile but we are also aware of the bid by Microsoft on Yahoo and it seems somewhat of a coincidence that T-Mobile have dumped Google at this time.

T-Mobile intend to offer more Yahoo services on their devices over time such as Messenger, Mail and Flickr. So we expect to see a lot of change with regard to the already established web n walk product.
