Mobile Phone Technology

Mobile phones are portable handheld communication devices that afford you the leisure of making and receiving calls wherever you might be. This is because the devices are so small that you can carry them around with you with ease. Mobile technology is the infrastructure that powers mobile phones. Service providers like T-Mobile, Orange and Vodafone usually offer this.

Mobile technology infrastructure includes the setting up of base stations and space satellites to transmit signals. Signal transmission and reception is the driving factor in mobile technology. The concept of mobile technology is similar in principle to radio communication. However, mobile technology uses stronger and clearer signals than radio. This is to provide mobile technology users with clear sound quality for effective communication.

The introduction of GSM (Global System for Mobile Communication) by a New York firm in 1990 to mobile technology saw more people appreciating mobile technology that lead to a rapid increase of users. The increased number of subscribers meant that handset manufacturers like Nokia, Samsung and Motorola had to go the extra mile in order to tap into this market. The handset manufacturers pushed mobile technology to the next level by developing handsets with more features for the subscribers. As a result, mobile technology has revolutionised the way we speak and interact with each other. Because of mobile technology the world has become a global village.
