Say goodbye to the streetmap ! Well that’s the official word from Nokia. Nokia are planning to launch a series of phones that will give real-time walking directions on the mobile screen. This new mobile technology will be rather similar to sat nav but aimed towards the pedestrian rather than car drivers.
Many people still struggle in reading large sized maps so the innovative technology should be welcomed by many. This mobile technology could of course be used for other purposes as it is context-aware and in tune with surroundings, meaning it could be an ideal platform for businesses who wish to advertise in specific geographic locations. Be prepared for some memory upgrades though as this technology is bound to come at a price if your don’t want bottlenecks.
