Overview of the Sony Ericsson Arc S

The Sony Ericsson Arc is one of the latest Android smartphones to be produced.  The company’s previous smartphone was roundly criticised but this Sony Ericsson Arc S review will demonstrate that they are back on track.

The most immediate reaction when seeing the Arc for the first time is to notice how thin it is.  Its distinctive curved shape emphasises its looks, measuring only 8.7mm in thickness.  There are two colour choices available, silver and blue, which enhance the sophisticated design.  The 4.2-inch screen is bigger than most of its competitors.

However, against the current trend, it does not possess a dual-core processor.  Its design, coupled with a fast 1GHz processor manufactured by Snapdragon, enables it to meet all the requirements of current smartphones, though.  It runs on the latest Android platform, Gingerbread.

Another standout feature is the camera, coming in at 8.1 megapixels.  When combined with a proper CMOS sensor, Sony’s Exmor R, it takes stunning photographs.  There is a low-light sensor, autofocus activated by touch and an LED flash too.  The video is great as well, recording at 720p and equipped with a video light and stabilisation functionality.  Sony Ericsson has its own Timescape interface enhancements that run on top of the Android platform.  The excellent GPS has Google Maps pre-installed, as well as Google Latitude, a great app that informs your chosen friends where you currently are.

This elegant-looking smartphone competes with all the other high-end Android phones, so check out the Sony Ericsson Arc deals to see if this phone is for you.
