The acronym HTC stands for High Tech Corporation and it is the driving force behind almost all Windows Mobile smart phones. In recent times HTC has been attempting to transition from cell phones to smart phones. As a step towards entering the smart phone niche market, HTC has developed and launched a number of innovative products into the market that have received varying reviews from mobile review experts.
One of the most recent HTC introductions into the smart phone market is the HTC touch diamond phone. Although many mobile reviews have compared the HTC touch diamond phone to the Apple iPhone, the two are worlds apart. Starting from the looks down to the functionalities, the two are not hard to tear apart. The HTC touch has a smaller display screen measuring 2.8 inches diagonally and displays 65,536 colors at a 240×320 pixel resolution. The HTC touch phone handset measure only 102mm long by 51mm wide and only 11.3mm thick and weighs just 110 grams. The Apple iPhone measures 115.5mm tall by 62.1mm wide by 12.3mm deep and weighs 133 grams. The Apple iPhone display is 3.5 inches with a 480×320 pixel resolution.
Due to its large screen size, the iPhone makes it easy to use the touch functionality even without a stylus. The same cannot be said for the HTC touch diamond; since the small display means you have to use a stylus. However, the TouchFlo technology applied to the HTC touch somewhat compensates for the lack of size. TouchFlo technology is so efficient on the HTC touch phone that all you need to do to operate certain features is a series of finger swipes or taps.
